Ophthalmology is the specialty that studies diseases of the eyeball and its appendages (eyelids, plaintive bodies and membrane-conjunctive), cellular tissue that surrounds the eye and bone structures that form the orbit.
Most often, the patient presents at the ophthalmologist for poor visual acuity, eye pain, foreign body sensation, lacrimation or sudden loss of vision, for the diagnosis of ophthalmic diseases being used more specialized appliances: perimeter, ophthalmoscope, slit lamp, hole, tonometrul, tables for definition of visual acuity and colour perception, echograph and electrophysiological apparatuses.
For claims above the patient must refer to the oculist in the shortest time, delaying or automedicația not only ways of worsening of the disease.
